When Values Don’t Align: The Quiet Crisis in Volunteering

When I first said yes to volunteer I was excited. But over time I started feeling tired and unsure. Volunteering takes a lot of time and emotional energy and it is unpaid. Feeling this way does not mean I am selfish.

Saying no was hard but necessary. It means I am protecting my limits and my energy. Stepping back is not failure. It can mean making room for a better yes.
